Shri Bhavnagar Tirth

Mulnayak : ‘White - colored idol of Bhagawan Adishvar in the Padmasana posture.

Historicity : Maharaj Bhavasinhaji settled Bhavnagar in the year 1979 of the Vikram era. Previously, it was know as the village of Vadva. Shri Bodeli Tirth

Mulnayak : 104 cms. high, white - colored idol of Mahavir Swami in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the center of the Bodeli town,

Historicity : This temple was formally installed by Acharya Vijayasamudrasurisvarji on the auspicious ninth day of the bright half of the mouth of Vaishakh in the year 2011 of the Vikram era. This temple is very high. The pedhi of this place is very well engaged in inducing thousands of Advisees and Parmar Kshatriyas of this place to adopt the Jain religion. This propagation work is very praiseworthy in the present times.

Shri Bidada Tirth

Mulnayak : Bhagawan Rishbhdev in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the Bidada village.

Historicity : This is a vast and splendid temple with five beautiful peaks in the center of the village. Bhagawan Risabhdev, the Mulnayak is there. In the upper storey, there is an idol of Bhagawan Chandraprabh. Beside him, there are small temples of Bhagawan Neminath and Bhagawan Parshvanath. At the back of the temple, there are paintings of tirths and in the center of the temple, there is Samavasarana. In this samavasarana, there is a Four-mouthed idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami. There are also paintings of Sheth Shri Jagdusha and of Muni Sthulibhadra.

Other temples : Besides this splendid temple, there is a Sadhana Ashram on the other side of the road outside the village. In it, there is a library of very good books. Some ascetics live there.

Works of art and sculpture : This ancient and spectacular temple with six summits is an excellent illustration of the architecture of those days. The paintings of Samavasarana and various tirths in the center of the temple surpass even the modern paintings.

Shri Bhujpur Tirth

Mulnayak : Bhagawan Chintamani Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the Bhujpur village.

Historicity : At the entrance of the village, on the wall of the temple, there is a painting of Vastupal Tejpal. it gives an idea of the antiquity and splendor of the temple. The temple is beautifully constructed. According to historical records, when the parents of Vastupal’s died, he decided to go on a pilgrimage to Siddhachalji to soothe his grief. before going, he thought of burying his wealth under the ground. As he went to bury his wealth under a tree, he saw there a large copper vessel, full of wealth. Anupamadevi said to Vastupal "If you want to go to a low state of life, bury the wealth under the ground and if you want to go to a high state of life, beautify the hills with summits" As a result, the temples of Girnar and Delwada and the tirth of Bhujpur came into existence.

Shri Bhoyani Tirth

Mulnayak : Nearly 104 cms. high white-colored idol of Bhagawan Mallinath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is near the village of Bhoyani

Historicity : This place was once famous as ‘Padmavatinagar’. The remains found here from fields and lakes, show that this was a very ancient place and there were many Jain temples. While a well was being dug in the field, this idol was found in the year 1930 of the Vikram era. It was formally installed in the newly set up beautiful and splendid temple on the tenth day of the bright half of the month of Magh in the year 1943 of the Vikram era. This idol in a womanly form.

Other temples : Besides, an Acharya Maharaj has set up the Padmavati complex.

Works of art and sculpture : There are seven sanctuaries in this vast and splendid temple, Nowhere else, there is such an ancient idol of Bhagawan Parshvanath in womanly form . Other idols and remains found from the ground are also artistic and delightful.

Shri Bhorol Tirth

Mulnayak : 76 cms. high, black - colored idol of Bhagawan Neminath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the central part of the village, Bhorol.

Historicity : A number of idols and relics have been found here from the ground. This proves the antiquity of this place. There is a reference that outside the city, a splendid temple with 1444 pillars and 72 devkulikas (Small temples) and also a large well with steps leading downwards, were built at the expense of one and a quarter crores of rupees. Even today, this stepped well is present here in its old shape. In the temple of Higharajamata, there is a broken idol of Ambikamata and on its girdle there is a mention of the second day of the bright half of the month of Jekh in the year 1261 of the Vikram era. The idol of Neminath is a marvelous. On the fifteenth day of the months of Kartak and Magashar, a fair is held here every year.

Works of art and sculpture : Since this is an ancient place of prosperity, a number of artistic relics are found from the ground. This idol of Bhagawan Neminath is artistic and impressive. Shri Bhiladiyaji Tirth

Mulnayak : 53 cms. high, black - colored idol of Bhagawan Bhiladiyaji Parshvanath in the Padmassna posture.

Tirth : In the village Bhildi on the main highway.

Historicity : In Jain Scriptures, this place is known by the name, Bhimapalli. but its history is not traceable. It is believed that this very ancient idol was formally installed under the auspices of His Holiness Kapilvijay kevali. Once upon a time there were a hundred and twenty - five temples with peaks, one hundred and twenty - five wells and many stepped-wells. This city was destroyed in the year 1353. Under the inspiration of Dharmachandbhai Kamdar this village was resettled in the year. 1872 of the Vikram era. The last renovation was accomplished under the auspices of Acharyashri Bhadrasurisvarji Maharaj Saheb. On the tenth day of the bright half of the month of Jeth in the year 2027. When this idol was being taken out from the cellar, it was enlarged by divine power and wild bees began to fly. Seeing this displeasure, Shravakas again reinstalled the idol at the same place. Even today, faithful devolotees come here and have their desires fulfilled. A fair is held here every year on the tenth day of the dark half of the month of Magsar.

Shri Bhadreshvar Tirth

Mulnayak : Nearly 61 cms. high, white - colored idol of Mahavir Swami n the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is a lonely beautiful place on the sea - shore outside the village Bhadreshvar at a distance of nearly one kilometer in the east.

Historicity : Bhadravati was the ancient name of this place. There are references to this city which were made in the times of the Mahabharat. Shravak Devchandra found this place and laid the foundation stone of this temple. There are references showing that this temple was renovated by Shrimalis in the year 1134 and by Sheth Shri Jagdu Shah in the year 1314 of the Vikram era. When this city deteriorated in the course time, this idol of Bhagawan Parshvanath was safeguarded by a Jain mark. In the year 1688 of the Vikram era, Sheth Vardhaman Shah Developed this sacred place and formally reinstalled the ancient idol of Bhagawan Parshvanath which brightly shines there even today. In 1939 of the Vikram era, Mithabai, the wife of Sheth Monsi Tejsi, accomplished the last renovation of this temple. This is the birth place of the famous donor Sheth Shri Jagdu Shah who lived in the fourteenth century. In the history of India, he has an illustrated name as donor.

Works of art and sculpture : On the maidan of nearly two and a half lakhs of square feet, this is a very beautiful temple comparable to an elegant residence of God, Gurumandirs of the Paychandagachha, of the Khartarga gachchha the Tapagchchha and the garden in the open space present a beautiful sight. The three doors and the arched gate of the temple stand out as distinctly superior to other works of sculpture. The temple is 38 feet high, 80 feet broad and 150 feet long. The idol of God is seen from the sculptured gateway. The canvas paintings of life events of Bhagawan Mahavir and of sacred places look very fascinating. In the temples, there are 218 pillars and 146 idols of God. There are niches for idols of presiding gods and goddesses of Mahavir Swami. Besides, the idols of Ganadhar Sudharma Swami, Vagheshvaridevi, Chakreshvaridevi, Mahakalidevi, Risikeshdevi, Saraswatidevi and of the feet of Kalyansagasuri Maharj Saheb are installed there. The atmosphere of this impressive temple is peaceful and beautiful.

Guidelines for pilgrims: The nearest railway station of Gandhidham is at a distance of 39 kilometers. Buses and taxis are available vehicles here. It is here that people begin their pilgrimage to the small and big groups of the five sacred places. Shri Bharuch Tirth

Mulnayak: 68 cms high, black-colored idol of Bhagawan Munisuvrat Swami in the Padmasana posture

Tirth: It is in the Shrimali street in Bharuch on the bank of the river Narmada and on the sea-shore.

Historicity: Eleven and a half lakhs of years ago, King Jitashatra ruled over the city of Bharuch. Munisuvrat, the twentieth Tirthanker came on foot over a distance of 240 miles to Bharuch in order to give sermons is a horse. This tirth is therefore known as Ashvabodh tirth. A female kite was searching a prey to feed her young ones. She was killed by a hunter’s arrow. The Sadhu spoke to her the namaskar mahamantra. The female kite was born as the king’s princess. When she heard Navkar mantra, she attained Jatismaranjnana (She remembered her past birth.) Then she built a very high temple, beautiful like a gods residence. This temple became famous as Shakunika Vihar or Samadi Vihar. In course of time many Muslim kings turned Hindu temples and Jain temples into mosque. This is one of those temples.When the temple of Samadivihar was attacked 500 years ago, this idol was seated in seven temples, one after another, in the Shrimali street. In course of time when all these seven temples were ruined, this new splendid three-storied temple was built on the thirteenth day of the bright half of the month of Magh in the year 2045 of the Vikram era. The idol was got installed by His Holiness Rajayashasuri. Its gate is extremely splendid On the first floor there is the idol of Mulnayak Munisuvrat swami. On the second floor, there is the idol of Bhagawan Sahasrafana Parshvanath. There is also the 127 cms.high black-colored idol of Bhagawan Munisuvrat, standing in the Kausagg posture.

SHRI BHAKTAMAR BHAVYA MANDIR :

An extremely beautiful temple all over India was for the first time built in Bharuch. In the sanctuary there is an idol of Mantugasurishvarji, the creator of the Bhaktamar Stotra, caught in iron chains. Moreover, these are idols of Marudevamata, Bharat Maharaja, Labdhisuri Maharaj Saheb and Vikramsuriji Maharaj Saheb. In this temple in the cellar, there are depictions, of the forty-four glorious gathas of the Bhaktamar Stotra. For display of these depictions, twenty-five devkulikas are made from marble. There are twenty-two idols of Bhagawan Risabhdev, the first Tirthankara who is worshipped by the devkulikas. Symbolic of the 44 gathas of the Bhaktamar stotra, its yantras and paintings are depicted . In this temple, there is a fifty-one feet high, ancient idol of Bhagawan Mulnayak Adinath, God of the Bhaktmar tirth.

Works of art and sculpture: Since this is an ancient city, ancient sculptural art is seen everywhere. The auspicious idol of Thirthankar Paramantra displaying the ancient art on the door frame of the Jama mosque on the Narmada bank as well as the carvings in Delwala given us an idea of the ancient Jain sculpture. According to the popular belief, this was a temple till the thirteenth century.

Shri Ajahara Tirth

Mulnayak : Nearly 46 cms. high, saffron - colored idol of Bhagawan Ajahara Parshavanath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : On the outskirts of the village Anjar.

Historicity : It is difficult to infer the antiquity of this idol. The disease of King Ajaypal was cured by water used in bathing this idol. He, therefore, settled this village, and got the idol formally installed in the temple. Hundreds of ancient stepped-wells are present here. A bell found here bears the carvings. ‘Shri Ajahara Parshvanath, the year 1034 of the Vikram era, Raichand Jechand Shah’. This proves that this is a very ancient place which was prosperous, The water used in bathing the idol, cured the disease (ajar) of the king. devotees, therefore, know Bhagawan by the name of Ajahara Parshwnath. Even today, many diseases of faithful devotees are cured by the water used in bathing the idol and miracles happen. The water used in bathing the idol is regarded by Jains and non-Jains an nectar. In the present times fair are held here every year on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Kartak, on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month a Chaitra and on the tenth day of the dark half of the month of Magsar.

Works of art and sculpture : Since this is a very ancient sacred place, many relics are found around it near the temple, there is a cellar. The chief idol is bright and worth seeing. It is made of sand. It is plastered with saffron.

Shri Gheekanta Shankeshwar Tirth

Mulnayak: 53 cms high, white colored idol of Parikaryukta Bhagawan Shankheshwar Parshwanath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth: It is the Gheekanta locality in the Karnavati city.

Historicity: The idol of Mulnayak Bhagawan Shankheshvar Parshvanath is very ancient. Formely, the idol of Mulnayak was in the temple in the one-storeyed residential place in the orchard of Shri Maganlal Karamchand. Many times musical notes were heard here at night. Shri Anandji Kalyanji Trust brought this idol for hospitality to the temple of Bhagwan Dharmanath in Panjarapole in the year 2015 of the Vikram era. it was to be taken to C.N.Vidhlaya. But since the residents of this place raised an objection, Shri Anandji Kalyanji Trust built this new temple and on the first day of the dark half of the month of Vaishak in the year 2023 of the Vikram era, this idol was installed under the auspicies of Acharya Udhaysuri Maharaj Saheb and Nandansuri Maharaj Saheb. In this temple, there are idols of Bhagwan Adishwar, Bhagwan Shantinath, Parshva Yaksh and Padmavatidevi.



Other temples: Moreover there are 350 to 400 pinnacled temples of various sanghs and also temples in residential places.

Work of art and Sculpture: This temple has a simple and low-built structure without any ancient workmanship. The idol of Mulnayak Bhagwan Parshvanath is very impressive and miraculous. People go there for workship on the first day and the fifteenth day of the month and on Sundays. With faith, they pray for fulfilment of their wishes. Ever since the installation of the idol Snatrapuja is always performed in the morning. By the Trust constituted by the members of the Snatramandal for arrangement of a caste-dinner, a pal(small tent) is raised during their six-gau ( 1gau=3.2 Kms.) journey on Mt.Shetrunjay on the thirteenth day of the bright half of the month of Fagun. Members of their group enthusiastically sing prayer songs at the time of waving light lamp before the deity. On the tenth day of the bright half of the month of Posh ( the tenth day of the dark fast on the beneficent birth anniversary day (Janma Kalyanak) of Bhagwan Parshvanth, is formally broken(Parana). A flag is hoisted here on the first day of the dark half of the month of Vaishakh.

Shri Naroda Tirth

Mulnayak : 33 cms. high, white - colored idol of Bhagawan Godiji Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the center of the village Naroda in Ahmedabad.

Historicity : There is an evidence that Naroda to the east of Ahmedabad is the Nishadh city of ancient times. It is believed that this was the city of King. Nal. Padmavati Parshvanath is also another name of the idol of Godiji Parshvanath in the splendid temple with a summit, built by Sheth Shri Hathisinh. This idol was found from the ground. Since this is a very awe - inspiring idol, it is very famous in Ahmedabad, crowds of Pilgrims swarm here on the first, day and the fifteenth day of the bright half of every month.

Shri Koba Tirth

Mulnayak : White-colored idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami in the Padamasan posture.

Tirth: It is on the bank of the Sabarmati river on the Ahmedabad - Gandhinagar high way.

Historicity : Under the inspiration of Acharyashri Padmasagarsuri Maharaj Saheb, the Koba tirth was set up in memory of His Holiness Acharyashri Kailas Sagarsuriji Maharaj Saheb, With his blessing Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra was established here on December 26, 1980. This is an excellent and matchless center of propitiation of dharma and attainment of spiritual knowledge, activities of religion, spiritual knowledge, activities of religion, dissemination of religion. Here is an immensely splendid temple of Mahavirswami. It has a cellar and eleven different idols. It aroused joy of religion. Looking beautiful with high steps and their pinnacles, this delightful temple is really worth visiting. The idols of Manibhadravir Padmvatidevi and Bhagawan Adishver are there in the cellar. The very rare crystalline of Bhagawan Parshvnath is also here.

Other Temple : Besides this temple , there is an artistic marble Gurumandir built on the funeral ground of His Holiness Kailas Sagar Surishvarji in his sweet memory. There is a plan of writing the life events of Acharyashri with golden letters in this Gurumandir. At present, there are foot-idols of Gurudev. They are delightful to see. There is also an Aradhana Bhavan for spiritual pursuant. It. Has aleeture-hall on 18 rooms. It is a high level place for spiritual pursuits of spiritual pursuant and Sadhus. In the Aradhana Bhavan there are more than two lakhs of ancient rare manuscripts. Among them there are more than a thousand invaluable books written a palm-leaves. It is more important than any great museum. Besides, there is an incomparable museum with very ancient specimens and books. It is an extraordinary experience of a pilgrim tom visit the museum.




Works of Sculpture : In this tirth, the temple with a big gate, looks beautiful like a god's residence. Every year on May 22, the sunray passing through the pinnacle is made to fall on the mark of pigment on the forehead of the idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami. It shines brightly like a diamond, keeping in view. On that day's thousands of devoted worshippers and researchers come here. The present new temple Gurumandir, Aradhana Bhavan and Gnanamandir are really famous for their new worship and structure. This place is a spring of propitiation and knowledge. In the museum, there are. The artistic models in this museum are the best artistic specimens of the period from the eighth to the 12th century.

Shri Fatasapole Mahavir Tirth

Historicity : This temple is very ancient. There is a referene that it belong to a period earlier than the year 1662 of the Vikram era. In the year 1922 of the Vikram era, this temple was rebuilt by Sheth Umabhai Rupchand, a resident of Fatasapole at the expenses of Rs. 50000. The idol of Bhagwan Mahavir belongs to the times of King. Samprati. In the year 1922 of the Vikram era, it was found from the residential place of a muslim Fakir, outside the Jamalpur gate of the Karnavati city. In those days, there was no railway line in India.One could go on a pilgrimage on foot in a sangha. Once a sangha of Palitana was to set out on a pilgrimage. Only the well-to-do could join the sangha. A Jain gentleman often used to go to the Fakir’s place. He wished to go on a pilgrimage but his monetary condition was not good. He was, therefore, feeling uneasy and agonised. Once the Fakir saw him in a pensive mood and asked him the reason for it. He then told the fact. Fakir requested him to be free from worries and asked him to prepare for the pilgrimage. Next day, Fakir took him to the cellar of his house, and showed him the idol. The Fakir always kept a lamp of ghee and and incense - stick burning before the idol. The Fakir bound a bandage round the eyes of the Jain gentleman and said to him, " I shut the celler. Recite the mantra of your dharma and when you hear noise, unite the bandage tied round your eyes." He did so and found himself sitting with his luggage, among the pilgrims at the foot of the the mountain in Palitana. Then he returned with the sangha. Then he always bowed his head to the idol. After some time, the Fakir fell ill. Then he requested the Jain gentleman to take away the idol. He was afraid that after his death, his caste - fellows would break the idol. On his reqeust, the idol was installed in this temple. Devotees do not miss to pay obeisance to the idol on the first day of the bright half of the month of Kartak i.e. the new year day, on the 13th day of the bright half of the month of Chaira i.e. the birth Kalyanak day of Bhagawan Mahavir, and on the first day of the bright half of the month of Bhadrapad i.e. the birth - reading day of Bhagawan. They come in a large number. The idol is adorned with rich dress and ornaments. The heirs of this rich merchant are alive. A flag is hoisted on his birth day..

Works of art and sculpture : This temple has a dome. On the open square, there are excellent sculptural carvings of goddesses. in the terrace, pavapuri the place of nirvana of Mahavir is constructed of marble. There are metal idols of the twenty four Tirthankars. There is a silver coated carved fort of Astapadji. There is a bluish cristal idol of Bhagwan Shantinath. A bulb of electricity is not used at all in this temple. The temple is lighted with lamps burnt with coconut oil. The atmosphere is full of joy and peace.

Shri Zaveripark Tirth

Mulnayak : Nearly 78 cms high, white-colored idol of Bhagawan Adishvar in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth : It is in the Zaveripark Jain locality near the Naranpura railway crossing in Karnavati.

Historicity : The idol in this temple was installed under the auspices of His Holiness Acharya Kailas Sagar Surishvarji Maharaj Saheb and His Holiness Acharya Subodh Sagar Surichvarji Maharaj Saheb and His Holiness Acharya Manharkirti Sagar Surishvarji Maharaj Saheb on the eleventh day of the dark half of the month of Magh in the year 2033 of the Vikram era. The idol of Mulnayak Bhagawan Adishvarji was brought from Palitana Siddhagiri. The premier founder of the Trust was Sheth Shri Keshavbhai Lallubhai. The beautiful pinnacled temple is two-storeyed. The idols of Mulnayak in the temple is splendid and extraordinary. The sculpture of the temple is excellent. Moreover, there are idols of Shankheshvar Bhagawan Parshvanath, Bhagawan Sambhavnath, Bhagawan Shantinath and Bhagawan Neminath and the idols Chantimani Bhagawan Parshwanath in the upper storey in the temple. The idols of Chakreshvaridevi, Padmavatidevi, Ghantakarna Mahavir, Gautam Swami and Pundarik Swami are beautiful and fascinating.

In the monsoon season, many religious activities are done under the auspices of Rev.Acharyas.
